The MLB Baseball playoffs are the most exciting time in Major League Baseball. Three divisions: two groups of playoff games and high emotions culminate in the World Series. But many fans agree that watching the games on television is nothing like being there in person. When you have playoff tickets, and you sit there in the stands, you experience the high running emotions of the fans and the players alike. There is simply nothing like it. Unfortunately, these tickets are harder to come by every year.

The MLB playoffs consist of three rounds, or divisions. The first is the Division series, where the best team in each division of the Major Baseball League faces off to see who comes out on top. The second series of games is the Championship series, where teams who won the Division series games face off and narrow the field down to two teams. The easiest way to get playoff tickets is to have season tickets for one of the teams that made it to the division playoffs. Season tickets typically cover all games held at the stadium, even playoff games. If you manage to get your hands on season passes to away games as well, you are covered for the division series playoffs regardless of where your team plays there playoff games. Season ticket holders also often get the first opportunity to buy tickets to series games later in the year. Unfortunately, World Series tickets are not as easy to purchase for season ticket holders, unless it is your team that makes it to the World Series games.

The next easiest way to get playoff tickets is through a broker. If this is the route that you are going to take to get your tickets, you want to purchase them as early in the baseball season as possible. Sometimes you can make reservations for tickets well before it is even known which teams will be playing in the playoffs, or where the playoff games will be. These reservations give you the first chance to purchase tickets when the games are announced. This is important, because the sooner you purchase your tickets the cheaper they will be. If you wait until the last minute to find and purchase tickets, you are likely to find yourself without, or paying double what you might have paid earlier in the season.

Some playoff tickets are always available at the box office of the stadium the game will be held in. Some stadiums have gone to selling these tickets as a lottery. People can register to enter the lottery for the tickets, and then those names that are drawn get to actually purchase the tickets. This is done because so many people want these tickets, and only few tickets are available through the box office. This makes it a little fairer for everyone.
